It was the worst backfire I've ever seen and it was gloriously painful to watch it unfold. He was on the phone with her for at least a good twenty minutes before they said their goodbyes. She then proceeded to break down and my roommate had to console her and basically eulogize this man he had never met. "Well I'm sorry to inform you that my son passed away last year of a brain tumor." But he wanted to go for one more, and this time an older woman answered the phone. The first two or three were pretty uneventful if they even answered at all, and I was about ready to be done with this experiment. Mind you this is like ten or eleven at night. He decided he was gonna look up people with the exact same name as him and call them out of the blue.
